Climate change is increasingly becoming one of the greatest threats to our natural resources and the communities that depend on them. Ensuring their long-term sustainability can only come from working together and learning from one another.
To recognize such efforts, seven individuals and organizations were honored today as the first-ever recipients of the Climate Adaptation Leadership Award for Natural Resources. The award was established by a partnership of federal agencies -- including NOAA -- to spotlight innovative tools and outstanding actions towards climate-smart resource conservation and management.

Honorable mentions were also awarded, including one to a partnership led by NOAA’s Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary.
