Deirdre Reynolds Jones

Deirdre Reynolds Jones serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  In this role she oversees NOAA’s diverse portfolio of real and personal property, operates and sustains NOAA’s three primary campuses in Silver Spring, MD; Seattle, WA; and Honolulu, HI, and provides essential administrative services that assure safe and secure operations for all NOAA line and staff offices.

Our Vision

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO) provides oversight, technical expertise & critical support services for the stewardship of NOAA's assets & infrastructure. The office is committed to quality, integrity and excellence in the support of our customers and the well-being of our employees.

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer
  • Provides executive leadership and direction for the agency. 
  • Coordinates activities and communications across Line and Staff Offices.
  • Manages official correspondence, scheduling, and inter-agency information for the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Establishes and monitors implementation of Agency and Departmental policies and procedures for administrative functions affecting program processes in NOAA's operating units.
  • Coordinates implementation of government-wide, Agency and Departmental management initiatives, and
  • Manages the agency's headquarter offices located in Silver Spring, MD
