Summary
The VE Project focuses on a small, demonstration, pilot-scale (two net pen array; one pen stocked with fish and one pen without fish) aquaculture system where up to 40,000 almaco jack (kampachi; Seriola rivoliana) fingerlings would be reared in Federal waters approximately 40 to 45 miles west southwest of Sarasota, Florida. These fish will be landed in Florida, marketed and sold to state- and Federally-licensed dealers, in accordance with state and federal law.
