Environmental Assessment for Amendment 7 to the Atlantic Bluefish Fishery

This amendment proposes to revise the catch allocation between the commercial and recreational fisheries, and the commercial quota allocation to the states. The amendment also includes possible rebuilding plans for the bluefish stock that was recently determined to be overfished. Initially, a notice of intent (NOI) to develop an environmental impact statement (EIS) was published for this action; however, throughout its development it became apparent that this action is not expected to have significant impacts and a "Finding of No Significant Impacts" (FONSI) could be signed. Therefore, a withdrawal of the NOI is being issued and an Environmental Assessment is being developed instead.
