Summary
NMFS received a Section 10(a)(1)(A) permit application from the United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) for the Russian River Coho Salmon Captive Broodstock Program (Broodstock Program). The permit application is supplemented by a Hatchery Genetic Management Plan (HGMP) that details current and future hatchery operations, and related fish monitoring. Activities covered by the HGMP include capture of endangered coho salmon broodstock by CDFW from various streams within Sonoma, Marin, and Mendocino counties; and fish hatchery operations by the Corps at the Don Clausen Fish Hatchery (DCFH) for rearing, and release of endangered coho salmon broodstock and post-spawn individuals into various streams within Sonoma, Marin, and Mendocino counties. The hatchery is located on Dry Creek at the base of Warm Springs Dam (WSD), within the Sonoma County portion of the Russian River basin in northern California.
