NOAA will announce its initial outlook for the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season during a news conference on May 23 at Washington National Airport, Signature Flight Support. Speakers will address the anticipated activity of the 2019 hurricane season and highlight other NOAA initiatives to boost forecasting and operations. NOAA and FEMA will provide information for the public about how to prepare for the 2019 season, which officially begins on June 1.
NOAA's Gulfstream IV hurricane hunter aircraft and the King Air turboprop which conducts post-storm damage assessment surveys will be on site.
