NOAA National Weather Service forecasters are predicting rain and moderate snow in portions of the country as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Snow is expected to develop across Colorado and New Mexico on Friday, as rain and thunderstorms develop from Texas to the Lower Mississippi Valley. This storm system will track along the Gulf Coast on Saturday, while the second will scatter snow and spread rain from the Northern Rockies to the Great Lakes beginning Saturday and lasting throughout Sunday.
As these two systems move east, precipitation chances will increase throughout the weekend generally east and south of the Ohio Valley.
Aside from a swath of somewhat below-normal temperatures in the wake of the Gulf Coast storm system that blanket Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, much of the nation will experience above-normal high temperatures through the weekend.
PS: NOAA wishes you a peaceful and relaxing Thanksgiving!
