EPP/MSI alumni contribute important work across NOAA's offices and hold a variety of roles. Many alumni are physical or biological scientists, with specific areas such as meteorology, hydrology, marine sciences, and fisheries. All EPP/MSI alumni at NOAA, including those in leadership, program management, and communications positions, have education beyond high school diplomas in fields aligned with NOAA's mission.

EPP/MSI prepares American students for careers in STEM disciplines that support NOAA’s mission through education, training, mentoring and hands-on experience at NOAA offices. The program also provides a firsthand experience of what it means to work for NOAA, and many alumni never want to leave!
