NOAA has forged a formal agreement with Vulcan Inc., the company created by the late Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul G. Allen, to share data resulting from the two organization’s ocean work.

NOAA and cooperative institute scientists are releasing Deep Argo floats off Hawaii to test them in preparation for the major deployment NOAA and Paul G. Allen Family Foundation will conduct next year to create the the Atlantic Ocean array in international waters off Brazil. (Image credit: NOAA)
