The Federal EEO complaint process consists of the pre-complaint process (informal process) in which an individual (employee, former employee, applicant for employment, or contract employee) makes the initial contact with the OCR. Such individuals must contact the OCR within 45 calendar days of the alleged discriminatory event, or within 45 calendar days of becoming aware of the alleged discriminatory event.
