The Weather, Satellites and Research Section provides legal advice on a wide range of issues to the National Weather Service (NWS), the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS), and the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR).

The office has three attorneys, one paralegal, and one support staff. The Section Chief is Glenn E. Tallia.
